Super hero pictures

We produced these pieces of artwork as part of our super hero writing week. We used a real photo of ourselves and collaged over it to create a costume. We then added text in the style of comic books.

Exaggerated similes

Some children from our class were lucky enough to do  a poetry workshop with Brian Moses. Afterwards, they taught us how to write an exaggerated simile poem. Here is an example of one line. My glorious gorilla is as talented as a singer doing backflips on a trampoline.

Ten tired teachers

We have been looking at lots of poems by Brian Moses this week. The first poems we wrote were based on his poem Behind the Staffroom Door. Here is the first line to inspire you. Ten tired teachers slumped in the staffroom at playtime, one collapsed when the coffee ran out, then there were nine.
